NEW WH&S REQUIREMENTS DO YOU KNOW? As from 1 January 2012 all businesses are required to comply with the new WH&S Act and in some cases, have a SAFE WORK METHOD STATEMENT for all jobs. Chinchilla CCCI, in partnership with Edge Coaching & Consulting and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), is offering WORKSHOPS which will assist your business to understand what is expected of you as well as develop insight into how to create a WHS system to meet the new legislative requirements.
WHAT IS INVOLVED? There will be two half day workshops delivered over a two week period (Friday the 23rd March 2012 at 9am – 12:30pm and Friday 30th March 2012 from 1:30pm – 5pm). You will be able to nominate for either a morning session or an afternoon session (Morning and afternoon tea will be provided).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Business owners, managers and staff who are responsible for operating in a safe way in the workplace and/or are responsible for supervising WH&S.
WHAT IS THE OUTCOME?
You will also receive a nationally recognised “Statement of Attainment” for Workplace Health and Safety.
You will also complete the following as part of the workshop:
Develop a WHS POLICY document for your business
Complete a RISK ASSESSMENT on a specific hazard
Develop a SAFE WORK METHOD STATEMENT that is specific to your business
Collect all the information required to develop a WHS system that meets the requirements of the legislation.
Develop an understanding of the CSG Proponent requirements
